We’re currently hiring for the following positions:

Head Chef

Location: Bristol Beacon

Rate of Pay: £28’000

Employment Terms: Full-Time/Permnenant/42 hours p/w

We are looking for a Head Chef for our Bristol Beacon site. Our food ethos is super seasonal and local, treating well sourced ingredients simply to let it shine. We work with natures glut, with a focus on preserving, pickling and fermenting to extend the life of a particular ingredient. Our menus are small and constantly evolving as we get in new produce, but must be accessible and overall delicious. We run a small daily breakfast and lunch menu and make sure we have a takeaway cabinet stacked with delicious sandwiches and salads for our takeaway customers and brunch at the weekends. We provide buffet and commercial catering for events at The Bristol Beacon and would like sweet and savory scones to be baked onsite daily. Our daytime offering is complimented with a focus on specialty coffee and natural wine at the weekends.

We are looking for someone who shares our various passions and loves to make humble food truly excellent. Your role will include managing a small department of chefs within our dynamic team and can work well within our company structure: collaborating with senior chefs but also alone.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will:

· have at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role.

· have an in-depth understanding of working with fresh, seasonal & local produce.

· have knowledge about and experience with pickling and preserving.

· have some experience in home-curing/smoking and traditional preserving methods.

· have a passion for developing new, healthy and nutritious dishes.

· have a proven record of fostering positive relationships between the kitchen, FoH and management staff.

· have the ability to work calmly under pressure.

· have up-to-date knowledge of health and safety procedures.

· have a keen eye for detail.

· have a professional, solution-focused attitude to problem-solving.

· have excellent team building, organisational and communication skills.

Pastry Chef

Location: Redfield

Rate of Pay: £TBC based on experience

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • previous baking experience having recently worked in an environment making high quality pastries
  • experience in product development and a good creative attitude
  • an understanding for consumer trends and habits and an exquisite eye for detail
  • excellent organisational and time management skills
  • a desire to grow and adapt within an evolving start-up business
  • knowledge of health and safety procedures
  • an interest in using vegan and non-gluten ingredients
  • previous bread baking experience is a big bonus (not essential)
