The Bristol Loaf is an artisan bakery situated on Church Road, Redfield. We are small, independent company who handcraft the tastiest breads as well as savouries, pastries and cakes. We use only the highest quality, organic ingredients sourced as locally and ethically as possible. In addition to our more traditional bakes, we also offer a range of vegetarian, vegan and non-gluten products.

Welcome

We were delighted to be able to finally open our doors in September of 2020. The dynamic new space incorporates our organic sourdough bakery, Hugo’s Greengrocer, Two-Belly Cheesemonger and The Bristol Vine – an exciting, new organic & natural wine shop. Our aim is to create a unique shopping and eating experience with an emphasis on ethics and sustainability. Our friendly and knowledgeable team are always on hand to offer advice – so any questions, please don’t be afraid to ask! Watch this space for information on upcoming workshops, courses and community events.

Café

Alongside our range of delicious staples of breads, pastries, cakes and savouries, our ambitious café offers seasonal and fresh scandi-inspired brunch and lunch menus with a focus on plant-based dishes and ferments, and showcasing all of the amazing, local produce you can buy in store. Cheese and grazing boards are also available throughout the day to enjoy with a glass of our natural wine. Please note that we are unable to take reservations for tables.

Hugo’s Greengrocer

A firm North Street favourite, Hugo sources his fresh fruit and vegetables from within a 15-mile radius of Bristol where possible. In addition to his renowned veg boxes, Hugo stocks a unique range of pasta and speciality cupboard essentials. You can also refill your bottles with organic Ivy House Farm non-homogenised milk and pick up fresh flowers by Thea  – one of Bristol’s oldest and most celebrated florists.

Two Belly

Starting life on Whiteladies Road, Two Belly specialise in the best quality cheese from the finest quality producers from the British Isles and France. They focus on high standards of animal welfare, ethical farming practices and sustainable vision as well as a great taste – helping us to support even more small producers and bring you more products that everyone can enjoy!

Native Vine

We boast a huge range of unique, organic and natural wines from small scale producers, including many from lesser known regions and grape varieties, both to take home and drink in. There are styles to suit all palates and our focus is on integrity, sustainability and affordability. Most are certified organic or biodynamic and vegan, and we have our sustainable wines on tap with refill bottles. Wine tasting and friendly guidance is part of the experience! In addition to our wines, we stock a range of beers, ciders & sprits from local producers.
